Try changing the shipping method. USPS Priority is less than $7.

I bought two. $7 might still be a little pricey for such a small item, but I figure I'm still saving a couple bucks. IF my dealership only charged $24 each, I'd still have to blow a couple of gallons of gas to go get them. And since the dealership is primarily a BMW dealer, the parts prices all tend to lean toward the upper end of the scale. All BMW owners are rich, right?

I bought my car used and one fob had the plastic ring and the other had a metal ring.
I'm guessing it was replaced when the car was traded in but whatever, so much the better for me.

The plastic ring does not fit on the updated fob, there is a tiny little plastic nub on the fob that prevents the ring from sitting flat.
The metal ring fits the original 2010 fob but has a small gap where it is split, not big enough to bother me but if you are OCD it may be an issue.

My local stealer quoted $44 for the metal trim ring.

I got my metal trim ring at my dealer for twenty bucks. That was with my local MINI club's 10% dealer discount.
