The Aloha 500
You can tell that those photos are done extremely well. Panning shots that keep the subject in relative focus with all else blurred to reflect the speed. You can see that the suspension is up off the ground with the car cornering too. I hope if we do spring fling in 2004 these photographers can be there again- just excellent photos-
Thanks for posting them.

>>Nice action picture-
>>Everything is a blur like the orange cones and the helmet looks seriously fast!
What do you mean "looks seriously fast!"?
It is FAST!!
I could almost fit my helmet between the gap!

Yeah, those pictures were great. Looks like Kohu`ulaMINI was having a whole bunch of fun!
That guy's pics are awesome! No digital camera can compete with that. Phew!
He kind of dragged the shutter to creat the blurred effect in the back ground while panning Kohu`ulaMINI to stay in focus....super nice! I can explain the technique...but actually putting out pictures like that are hard!
That would be great if he could be there next time around...I'm looking to sign up my stock 03 MC running 92 octane! (Yeah, that's right Beastmaster...I had to beat you to the punch line!)

Like everything else it takes some skill and technical knowledge to get those shots- digital cameras or not. The digital part is just the "film". The long telephoto lenses and panning of the subject is the right part. Adjusting shutterspeeds for the desired effects and bracketing for exposures all help to select the best of the shots to share.
Kinda hard to be driving or coordinating and still take decent photos. Hats off to the photographers. Amateurs also welcome to take whatever photos possible- just stay in safe places and be aware of the dangers about you.
