Hot off the presses

My new AUTOWEEK magazine says: the next 07 mini will be stretched with two small rear doors that swing out suicide style like the RX-8. The body looks almost the same, exept the front end has different headlights and there are four small circular holes for front-end intake. There is rumors that there is a two seat speedster in the mix too. As well as a future five door now that there is a stretched platform. Visit autoweek.com for pics.

I would much rather see a MINI stay a MINI. Why would BMW want to make the MINI bigger? What is the point? I am happy I ordered my '05.

Don't fret. The original post on this thread failed to mention that this stretched version does not replace the hatchback that we all know and love. It is a 2nd vehicle type.

The actual article is here:

That rear end sure does look like Mazda 3 wagon.

i think they are killing the style of the mini with that kind of rear end. What are they thinking!!! Looks like those not in the know will refer to it as a mini dodge magnum. The idea of a mini wagon is not bad, but they should hold on to the original styling
