it's that time of season in hawaii when all the crazy bugs come out -- killer mosquitos, b-52 roaches, and those irritating little gnats! the gnats are present by the millions and are taking over hawaii! they stick to my car, they go up my nose, they bite me when i'm not looking, and more!

anyone know how to get rid of these pesky little creatures?

.....a can of lysol and a lighter. Or buy a high powered fan and sit in front of it. These little buggers seem to be able to get through my screens and they fly around my reading lights causing annoying shadows. I'd love to know how to keep them away without having to squash them one by one.

Isn't the Cooper and MCS governed to under 135?

Yup, I've got lots of those buggers at my house and they irritate the heck out of me!

i don't have gnats in the house, unless they happen to sneak in when i open the door. however, for those of you who do...here are some home remedy solutions: put vinegar in a jar covered with plastic wrap with little holes in it. the bugs enter but cant get out.

also, if you have drain gnats (gross), pour 1/4 cup ammonia down the drain. but then again, wouldn't ammonia kill just about anything? heh.

Maybe it's gotten a bit colder.
I don't see many gnats lately.
Good riddence.

minimal gnats currently, but summer is looming around the corner. then it's time to keep your windows closed or just sit in the dark.

You just gotta get a bug light. That thing works wonders!

Should I mount the bug light inside or outside my MINI?
Since I drive with my windows up I think outside would work better.
I might zap myself if the light moves around with hard cornering.

I also found that you should close your mouth when the gnats are around in large numbers. Too bad we don't have nostril closing muscles. Don't hippos have those neat muscles?

I got a minor gnat attack while walking near Ala Moana Shopping center.

Be careful out there. The gnats might be coming back! :???:

kbseto found an albino gnat on my MINI wheel arch today at the MINI meet.
Or at least it looked albino.

those aren't gnats, they're another type of bug that's attracted to the monkey pod trees and beastmaster (or at least his bright yellow t-shirt).

Yeah, they were all over beasties shirt; especially the back of it! Worst though were the flies while trying to eat my bento! UGH! Couldn't finish - lost the battle to the flies!

I don't think the gnats were attracted to my shirt. They are actually attracted to light. So my hypothesis was that my radiant personality attracted the gnats.
