People seem so angry on this site now a days.....it's really sad. I just read a thread about a guy telling everyone to go to hell. What's up with that?

Where's the love? Show it to me....let me feel it!

Today my co-worker held the elevator door open for me.....what nice thing happened to you folks today?

(Yes, this is my pathetic attempt to make this place a little happier....please humor me!)

Thanks for your reply in hawaiian. It's even better spoken in person than written (although at least I can see it and slow down to appreciate what has been said).

Makes me want to stop and watch Lilo and stitch again. Esp the special features like the segments on the childrens chorus and on Hula!!!

keikilee,
you can see this about our concerns
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...forum=7&10

We are working on a redo of MCO using different software and will be coming up with revised guidelines for a bunch of things. Hopefully things will improve-stay tuned.

Where's the aloha? Well, I only evicted one tenant this week instead of two! I'll finish up next week.

Hey the other week I got something for a change.

I call over to stratmosphere about 2-230pm Hawaii time to shop for a header which on MCO they advertised as having in stock. I talk to Pete and he says it is really late in NY and nobody is around, he has one unit left and it costs $900. I tell him OK and he says let me calculate the shipping to Hawaii. The box weighs 30 pounds so the shipping is $60 by UPS 2nd day air. Then a minute later he says while we are doing the credit card thing, I give you a special and charge your card a flat $900 which includes shipping.

That's the nicest shipping story I have to tell and a very nice aloha goes out to Pete from Stratmosphere the people who bring to MCO the Shark injector and the Milltek exhaust/header.

Kohu'ulaMINI you are the ALOHA Award winner. You spread more Aloha in one day than many people do in a month. I also own a PT Cruiser, which my wife drives, so it might have been her. The jaywalking Ped should count his blessings and the SUV owner probably thought you were inconveniencing him. Sometimes it is hard to spread the Aloha when you are driving in the normal Oahu traffic.

Keep up the good work.
Maybe you will change the world.
One person at a time.
In theory it should work.

Aloha my Island friend.

Peace and Sunshine to you and Happy Trails to all your friends and family.

I had the pleasure of sharing your island of Ohau last April. The pleasure lingers. As I write this I am listening to Aloha Joe on Jump Radio via the net.

Do a search for Aloha Radio Jump and it will make for a better day. Invite it into your heart and not only your ears and it will make for a better world.

back to my April visit. I won a trip to Ohau. Cool! Most genuine people. I had ordered an EB S in October and it was due in May. Nice place to kill time while I waited. Came home and two weeks later drove away.

While running around the island I ran into a dark blue Mini (bad choice of words) I SAW a MINI at the POI Factory and had a nice talk to the owners. Man I wish I had the MINI out there.

Any way Mahalo for all your kindness and also for your contributions to the site.
My MINI is yours if ever you get to visit Connecticut and New England.

>>Aloha my Island friend.
Aloha to you and good to hear from you. Let us know if you ever make it back out here. We do have an active MINI club.

>>Peace and Sunshine to you and Happy Trails to all your friends and family.
Sunshine we have mixed with passing showers. Yesterday it rained on and off and dampened a car show we had planned for.

We have quite a bit of hawaiian music that is not found anywhere else. You'd be surprised, it's quite good.

We call it Aloha spirit and it is part of the normal culture here. Being in an urban area like Honolulu makes it a little harder to find compared to going to outer islands like Maui, Kauai or the big island of Hawaii.

We have very many more MINIs now since then. Maybe 600 were sold but not all are still in Hawaii.

My pleasure. Good to hear from you.

I do go over to the east coast and will be hanging around Wash DC in Feb of 04 and visiting my daughter at Brown University at that time. But with so much snow it might not be as nice as Hawaii. I did spend 4 winters in Colorado and 5 winters in Chicago so I know about snow. I don't own a snow shovel anymore, Just a sand shovel for helping my kids dig out sand crabs for make sand sculptures.

One of our Bus drivers had twin daughters who graduated High School from the school on Ohau which is state run but difficult to get into. You would know of it I'm sure.

They have full academic scholarships. One is at University of Colorado/Denver. The other is at Princeton. I send them a snail mail letter every now and then to have a mainland friend if ever they need anything. The same will hold for your daughter at Brown.

Happy Motoring!

Schools are difficult in Hawaii. The public school system has flaws and although paid for by taxes, is not the first choice for many families. While some public schools are good, others are not. The most competitive High schools are Punahou and Iolani but both are private. The hardest school to get into arguably is Kamehameha which is open to those students of Hawaiian ancestory but it is not a state run school- it is run by the trustees of the estate of Benice Pauahi Bishop. As a result of landholdings and great resources it is one of the most well endowed institutions in the country.

Thank you for your offer and presence nearby.

Perhaps MaxiMini is talking about the University Lab School? That was, up until recently, a state-run school and is very difficult to get in (Recently gained Charter Status). They use a lottery system to decide which students are accepted. I'm dying for my son to get in for 7th grade....but of course I'm killing for my son to get into, Kamehameha.

Wait a minute, this is my Aloha thread. Why am I talking about.....dying and killing? I meant I'd LOVE for my son to get into either UH Lab or Kamehameha!

hey maxamini,

i remember some time in spring/early summer of this year stopping by the waihole poi factory for some lunch. i think it was on aloha friday, so i was itching for a hawaiian plate. i pulled up in my silk green/black mc cvt with roof racks. and i believe some guy commented on my mini and how he was itching to return home to connecticut and pick his up. then he ended by saying, "happy motoring!"

was that you? although i think you mentioned in your thread that you saw a dark blue mini.

anyways, if it wasn't, it seems that there are others who have their mini on order and like to spend the waiting period in hawaii before going home to pick up their mini.

happy motoring!
