GP3 "Launch Control"

GP3 "Launch Control"
I was browsing through the GP3 Owner's Manual. On page 121 of the GP3's owners manual is a section called "Steptronic Sport Transmission Launch Control"
What??!!! Has anybody tried this?
The page describes lots of do's and don'ts of using Launch Control. Then gives the step by step instructions how to engage it.
1) Activate GP Mode.
2) Engage Gear Selector to "S" (Sport)
3) Forcefully press on Brake Pedal with Left Foot
4) Press Gas Pedal with Right Foot to Full Throttle.
A Flag symbol will display on the digital dash that Launch Control is engaged.
5) Wait for Engine Speed to level out. Do not lift right foot off Gas Pedal at full throttle.
6) Release Brake Pedal within 3 seconds of Flag display to launch car.
Upshifting automatically occurs as long as flag symbol is displayed and gas pedal is still firmly planted.
Do not turn steering wheel when driving away using Launch Control
What at least 5 minutes for transmission to cool down between engagement of Launch Control.
Use of Launch Control will cause premature component wear.
I have not tried this yet. Was wondering if anyone has tried it.

I've used the launch control a couple times and it's pretty fun, but most of the time I just roll onto the gas normally and just wait for the boost to kick in. I recall reading somewhere that launch control on the GP3 is limited to 100 tries, I guess to prevent excess wear on the transmission? I'm not sure how true that is though.
