I like the 2006 GP wheels better.

No comparison with the 2013 Recaros.

What are these new GP2s going for and what were the original GPs selling for back in the day?

I have a r53, GP, would not sell it for a GP2 but lik both for different reasons. Just the brakes, seats, leather wrapped dash and shocks, the 2nd Gen gets the nod in that department. This being said, the original GP will always be the crown jewel in my eyes. It is a great car to drive, the wheels look better on the 06, and the entire body of the car looks better in my opinion with the specific body kit. Nothing can replace the original, but I would bet that I have both a 1st and 2nd generation GP in my garage at some point!

Navigation? Was that an option?

Sorry, I was on vacation sipping Caribbean rum by the Oceanside when I wrote, scratch the navi comment . My wife and I are eyeing up JCW Coupe's and were talking about them when I wrote this..... My mind went astray! Lol. As for the rest of it, my comments still hold true IMO

As for GP2, the brakes, seats and suspension are a plus but the GP1 is the equivalent of the 2002Tii or the e30M3 as far as we're concerned. The combination of subtle styling, stellar performance and "less is more" philosophy makes the 2006 MINI GP an iconic vehicle.

Agreed. I was day dreaming the other day and thought... wow what a car the Gen 1 GP would be if it had the brakes, seats, leather wrapped interior, black xenons, shocks and exhaust.

Here you go!

It took a set of 16mm hub centric wheel spacers to fit over the front brakes.

STAY AWAY FROM MY SEATS :P

personally i like the GP's rear wing over GP2
18" wheels over the 17's
are the 1st gens same overall size as 2nd? looks it, but the majority of items are way better on GP2, seats, interior, suspension, brakes..etc.
Engine...i think its a toss, has anyone dynoed a GP2 yet?
