Considering the very limited information out there, where did you hear October? While I generally don't put much stock in "dealer talk" the fact that my dealer's GM got January from a "dealers meeting" makes it at least semi-credible.

My dealer told me September or October when I put my deposit down.

 

September/October time frame is consistent with the original GP build dates and is also when BMW typically switches over to next MY tooling/build (September). So October would be when the first 2013 GP2s should start showing up is my best guess.

If they are as fast as everyone says they will be, then I see one in my future. I particularly like the grey color too. But I'm not bidding up on the car as I heard GP1 owners did the first time around.

 

Was over at my dealer talking to my SA... He’s heard rumors (only rumors, he has no spec sheet) that the ’12 GP is around 240 HP. Does 12 seconds faster than an ’08 JCW @211 HP at Nurburgring = 240 HP?

I can’t stop thinking about this MINI.

 

SA's and MA's are not particularly a reliable source for inside information. There is no way that the 2013 GP2 will have 240 HP from the factory. This car will be more about handling, along with a modest bump in power to maybe 218-220.

 

All we really know right now is that it has significantly better aerodynamic improvements over the JCW and R53 GP.

Kurster, did you know they are also most likely making a GP in the Coupe form?

That is the 2013 Countryman JCW interior (with options).

I will see the 2013 GP in a few weeks at MTTS and will post pics. It will probably be a pre-production version, so may not have the correct interior yet, but will pass along any details.

I am curious if we will be able to look inside it. I have a feeling it will be the same with the tinted windows as it was at MINI United. Since the official release is set around September... :/

Agree! If it is being driven then it would not be deeply tinted. Still may not be the final production configuration.

We will know in 3 days. I will be joining the caravan at CBP in Philly.

GP2 is at MTTS. Still not the final version, it has back seats. Otherwise, looks just like the car at MINI United (just less tint).
