I found one of the for sale threads and thought i would go ahead and post here... back in July 2019 i became the new owner of GP1
For what i have seen this GP had a sort of sordid past on the forum... and if im honest i can see why... it had been dinged a couple times... had an off track adventure...was from what i can see was daily driven in michigan/ohio
it has taken some time but i am finally getting to where she should be... at the end of the day many of the GP parts are becoming impossible to find so since she lived life as a track car... might as well roll with it
Took her for a rip on the dragon on my way back to Florida from Indiana
not long after i got her she did a track day at Sebring Intl Raceway
From what a local body shop told me the side skirts were pretty scarred up from its previous track day fiasco and the passenger side was so bad it was rubbed almost through... so they repaired them and i decided to go ahead and paint match them to the body
and yes it had red wheels... and no i wont repaint them... as i told others before... you want the wheels to be another color? pay to have them resprayed
Oh im going back to the dragon... i should be there monday at fontana ( i have a cabin i rent every year)... and ill be there till sunday morning before i pack back up and head back to FL
This is true they are not easy to find, which is why when this one popped up i jumped at it... sure it needed loving but its not really anything beyond my ability to rectify... of course trying to find parts like an aero grill not broken or even an original GP slatted grill is rare as hen's teeth anymore
they really need to get someone that can properly reproduce the aero grille not that cheap knockoff one with the 2nd gen style honey comb
