Sorry to hack the post but I'm wondering. Out of all exhaust systems, which one gives best performance? I'm in the market for an exhaust upgrade and I'm using Myne's header with test pipe (no cat).

Please help as performance is my top priority.

Thanks

Thanks for all the help with this. The forum helped me get this right eventually!

Not really concerned too much with the fit, exhaust assembly / fitting is pretty subjective and there are a lot of tolerances stacking up and variables on both sides...

With that said it would have been nice if it just fit out the box though

Still love the sound!

I had various fit problems with the Milltek. When first installed it hit the rear valence and the muffler rattled on the hanger. Plus it did not come straight out the back (was at a slight angle). I had to bend the hanger and add spacers to the hanger to get the exhaust straight and stop it was hitting on the car.

Interesting to note. I used to own a high performance tuning shop and was a Milltek dealer (among many other brands). Had fitment issues with every brand EXCEPT Milltek and no, I have no ties to them currently so just speaking as an owner here. Curious, did you use new exhaust hangers when you installed yours? Mine didn't fit quite right at first but when I used new hangers ($25) it fit like a glove and was centered perfectly in the rear valence. FYI when I had my shop I sold thousands of Milltek units for various makes and models (99.9% non-MINI cars) with no problems and ran them on every personal car I had (no, they did not give me free exhausts!) that they had exhausts for except my E46 M3 because I had a totally custom setup on that car...
