New 2006 GP

Hi,
I'm in the process of purchasing another MINI, 2006 GP. Where are the best places to find out all the info and talk about these, I have a Gen 2 FJCW right now and will hopefully be picking up the GP next week after Christmas.
Thanks

Great thanks,
I saw the gpmini.net and it had allot of good info but looked like not too many people have been there lately, I do not have possession of the car yet but it will be mine next Wednesday so technically I don't own one yet....lol, but I do own a Gen2 FJCW , the 06 has 10,500 miles and so far it looks to be absolutely brand new, and so I’ve been told by the dealer and others at service. It is totally stock, was owned by a 60 yr old retired car collector. So you have 2 of the GP's....wow

Is that the one in Arizona? If so, it looks pretty nice. Good luck with the purchase. Nothing like a GP

If it is the one @ penske in scottdale, it is 0808. Sister to my car when new. I kinda know the car and its past, if it Is this one. Other than the wheel rash and a door ding on drivers Door, not in bad shape..

Hi Azmini,
This is the one, what do you mean about its past....???? And also what do you mean in
“NOT BAD SHAPE”.... I was told there are no door dings on the car and that it's in perfect condition. The wheel is being fixed. I also got it cheaper than the asking price...Please respond back as I am flying out to buy this car. If they is an unhealthy past I need to know.... I found others close to what I’m paying that have 3 ,4 and 5 times as many miles on them and look very trashed out and modified.

From what i was told it’s been sitting in a garage covered since 2008. I even had the MINI service guys go over and check it out and they said it was in incredible shape except for the wheel. I has been through a full MINI service check and qualified for an extend warranty. I also had my sources here in Texas at MINI and BMW check out the vin and apparently it was sold and traded in right after, the 3rd owner was a car collector and traded in 2 cars at the Bentley dealer for either a new Bentley or Rolls, not sure which. I also saw somewhere that a race car driver was the original owner. Not sure about that but I do know it has never left Arizona.

Congrats! Bring on the pics and the fun. I have used the Dr. Color chip system on my GP and it works pretty good. Enjoy the GP. Best car ever

Thanks Mark, was just a crazy busy day... i never even hooked up the AUX till last night.... never put the wheel looks on either...lol. Airport security pulled me aside, they saw the wheel locks and AUX wiring and must have thought it was some kind of bomb with a wiring harness…. We almost missed the flight. They ripped my bag to pieces… lol…
But I will say that after I washed and cleaned the wheels they are perfect. I know hey fixed the left rear but I still thought the others had scuff marks or slight rash but it was like hardened rubber that was caked on around the edge of the rim... almost like part of the tire had burned off while they were put on. After some elbow grease and scraping with a plastic chisel type tool they are absolutely like brand new, even around were the bolts go had no chips…. Over all the entire car could not be any cleaner after 10,000 mls except if it were the bubble GP… I’ve had a few on the MINI club over and they are in pure shock when they look at it.
Well, I’m off out to the garage to look at it some more… have a great New Year’s Eve and Day tomorrow…
