JCW Alcantara/Leather Steering Wheel!

Yeah!!! Got my wheel today and installed it this evening. Now we're talking. Nice thick squishy wheel makes gripping a pleasure. The split leather/alcantara is a smart move by BMW/Mini. It makes the most touched parts more durable and still allows you to have the nice sueded feel of the alcantara.

By far one of the best upgrades so far! Next up is RMW tune this weekend!!!

Btw, I lined up the notches on the spline and now my steering wheel is slightly crooked? Should I recenter or get an alignment?

just adjust the wheel as needed. I lined mine up as well and it was just a tad off. You just need to go one notch to the left of the right depending on where yours is off.

Sure, I'll post some tonight. Didn't think anyone cared since it's nothing new. But it definitely is a pleasure to grip and worth every penny!

The JCW alcantara steering wheels and shift ***** are awesome. If they put those in all the JCW cars, they would sell a lot faster! It's the feel of the wheel that seals the deal...

To answer your question about the shift ****, the part number is 25-11-0-403-543. Price on that **** is $108.95 + your NAM discount.

Feel free to order it from us at http://mini.sewellparts.com/parts_inquiry/index.html and input that part number. I can get one to you next week. If you want to order, make sure to register first to receive your discount.

EDIT: Already on the site! http://mini.sewellparts.com/accessor...2006/4911.html

Mini of Ontario. Used my brothers shop discount so it was only $360. Saw it on Way Motorworks for $350 plus $15 shipping after I placed my order. I think that is the best deal without getting a shop discount. I think msrp was like $450.

Oh, I didn't realize the jcw alcantara **** was that shape. I really dig the ball style **** after 10+ years of using the BMW style *****. I ordered a chilli red **** to give the interior some color. But I really like how the round ball falls into the cup of your hand.

Here is info on both the jcw shifter and e-brake. I had a Whalen stainless steel shift **** too, but this one felt good. And plus when you bring in the jcw steering wheel, shifter and e-brake all together it look real nice...a holy trinity! http://www.motoringfile.com/2006/04/...rake-retrofit/

I wish MINI would have gave the GP a custom one-off shift **** like they did the MC40.

I really like that steering wheel and will probably pick one up, I just wish it had red stitching. Congratulations!
