#89 spotted

I was at Mini of Knoxville (TN) today and saw #89 on the lot. They took it in as trade, apparently, on a Porsche Cayenne they had received. 48k miles. Looks to be in pretty good shape. They were asking just under $25k.

I'm still blown away at how good these cars look, even today. I've only seen one other GP up close, and that was also at Mini of Knoxville. It was mildly customized, but even stock that is one awesome looking car. Don't think I didn't consider trading my 7k mile '11 JCW in on it...

I've been talking to a salesman about this car for weeks. I have an '08 Evo X with 18k miles making 340awhp. Never seen a GP, or even driven an R53, but I want this car badly. I just want a fun DD. Do you think I'd regret it?

No you would not regret it. Your Evo is a fast car, but do you think you'd have as much as this?

^^Haha, believe me, I have watched his videos a million times, and they never get old! If this #89 had lower miles, and wasn't 3 hours away just for a test drive, I'm sure something would have already happened. I've been lurking this site for weeks researching the GP.

My main concern is the mileage, depreciation, and maintenence. I read someone was quoted $3500+ for a clutch/flywheel job from a Mini dealership. Does this sound about right? I know the car is still on stock clutch, and that concerns me. One reason I wanted to get out of the Evo was because of expensive upkeep / possible future problems. Would the GP put me in the same position? Worried about reliability.
