Paint Peeling on lower front spoiler

My paint is peeling around the front lower spoiler and the MINI rep says it is from hitting curbs??? I have never hit a curb in the front nor do I understand why the paint would peel 3" up from the bottom if I even did hit a curb?
WTF is wrong with MINI and the lack of ongoing service? My other MINI has supercharger and other issues they also deny....

At least with an Audi they stand behind their cars....

A number of the first GP's produced had a problem with paint pealing from front spoiler. Yours would have been in the first month of production. This was a known problem when they were first delivered. If it hasn't been repainted take it to another dealer and also contact cust. service at MiniUSA. Check on GPMINI.net as others had this problem and got them repair by MINI. Good Luck. Gman

Mine peeled too. I pulled some pages off a GP forum to show dealer, fortunately did not need to show them.I took it to (Main Line MINI) dealer, last year and they said that they would fix it and that they had like 5 others come in for same issue but first a regional person will need to look at it for approval. They looked at it took pictures and they fixed it or repainted it actually.

paint issues

Here is the 'Manager's response to an email to him:

Thank you for the feedback. The factory must approve all paint work under warranty, which puts us in a bad spot with the customer. If they denied the repair, we would not get reimbursed for a claim. That being said, I will forward your comments up the chain and see if someone will reconsider the denial. Everyone’s goal is to satisfy you and keep you as a happy and loyal MINI enthusiast.

Basically what I have seen out of MINI it total denial to accept responsibility for poor workmanship. This started well before 8k miles and only happens on one side of my car and they want to point the blame to me over peeling and bubbling paint - WTF???

I've seen it with my 2004 also, total denial of poor workmanship or wrong parts. The last time I left the dealer my 2004 MINI it was worse than when I brought it in and left me stranded on the side of the highway and when I told them they could care less.

This is the crap I got back from them.... Jay,
Sorry for the delay. After sending your appeal up the flag pole, I got back the same denial. It seems as the problem you claim to be common is not showing up in any system. Also the inspection of your car did show physical damage.

I did review all of your previous surveys and I have to apologize for our inability to have ever satisfied you. The staff at Orlando MINI is committed to your ownership experience and will continue working towards your satisfaction.

It seems they are 'really' committed to good service huh? What a f&^%ing joke...

I tried MINI USA and they are pushing it back to the dealer now....
A consistent cycle of denial...

From what I heard MINI is giving dealers less $ to deal with 'issues' and having or making them push back.

I just don't understand why any car that costs this much and is cared for and garaged would be having issues of paint flaking unless the factory did something wrong or forgot a step - like what is posted all over the boards on MINI2 etc.

It's a pity they don't stand behind a product, it will hurt them in the future for sure and has cost them at least 2 sales of cars that I know of by my coworkers.
