How much is a set of GP wheels, tyres worth

I don't forsee me ever using my GP wheels again and I have no intentions of ever selling this car. So should I sell the wheels that are just taking up space, Heidi's mini has PIAA's on it and I'd hate to see the GP wheels get damaged, so why not sell them. How much do you think they are worth, they have Mitchilin sport 2 tyres on them, that have done maybe 6,000 miles.

It's really hard to guess, since so few GP owners have sold their wheels, but I'd be surprised if you couldn't get at least $2500-3000 for the wheels and tires.

Some of the 18" JCW wheels that any schmoe off the street can buy are ~$1500/set just for the wheels.

I also found a post from another GP owner that was quoted a price of $700 from the dealer for one extra tire/wheel as a "spare".

I'll take them off your hands for $5. LOL, just think, $5 whle dollars and all that free space!

In all seriousness, I would think that they would fetch a fair amount of money if they are in good shape as they are exclusive to the can and most dealerships won't sell you the wheels w/o an actual GP. The exclsivity of the wheels alone would drive the price up a lot. Asking $2k would make the wheels disapear in a heartbeat.

But again if there was a NAM-bay, my opening bid is $5 shipped to the west coast!

As the replica;s on ebay are selling for 799 + tires (figure 1100) , I would think you can easily get 2000-2500.

The issue being - the only mini owners that want to pay that for a heavy wheel probably are buying a second set for their GP.

Just my .02

hey gary - I have the AC Schnitzer package on my 05 MCS - including the AC Schnitzer wheels, on Michelin Pilots - 17", red wheels with machined lip. 7k miles. I'm actually not a huge fan of the red wheels and have always liked the GP wheels - would you be interested in a swap??????

Thanks, but I was going to get another set of SSR's for the track with RA1's. But I am curious what they look like and how much they weigh.

The problem is that since adding the stoptec brakes I would need 20mm spacers to clear them if I use the GP wheels. So to be realistic they are just going to sit around for a long, long time.

not sure about weight- ac schnitzer website describes them as light weight.

here's a pix of them on my car, side view (since taking that pix - i've actually removed the decals on the side of the car):

I just ordered my Wheels yesterday. What do the GP Wheels weigh?

Depending what you need for them I might want them.

I really love the GP wheels. I'd take them off your hands if I weren't thoroughly convinced they'd look stupid on PW.

They look awesome on white. These pictures I found on Google and don't know whose mini they are but I believe they are replicas.

I think the bare wheels weigh 19.8 lbs each, which ain't bad for an 18" wheel. In fact, that's lighter that the lightest of the MINI 17" wheels by a good three pounds or so, and lighter than half of the 16" MINI wheels.

I def think they'd look great on my MCS. Completely understand, tho garey if you're gonna go with another set of SSR's - they're sweet wheels - but if you decide you wanna trade -i'd be open to explore the option!!!!!!

Yep - I have the WebSpokes, which I think are still the lightest of the MINI OEM 17" rims, and they're 23 pounds and change each.

Hmm...yeah they don't look as bad as I thought. I don't know, just not quite the look I'm going for.

Too bad, cuz I really like them on a black or silver MINI.

Not being a big fan of the GP Wheels I have to say they look good on this car. However they look like 18's.

Maybe George would buy them from you Gary - with so many GPs, he's bound to need some spare wheels

You and George should buy them together, then there would be 1 spare for each GP . I should'nt joke about, George might actually do it.

Make me an offer that I can't refuse and I may buy them from you for my son's GP(1099) for Christmas. He really wants an extra set to store.

Thanks!

Yikes, 20 lbs for the 17" knock-offs and 22 lbs for the 18"s. Too bad no one makes a truly lightweight version of this design.

You'll really harm the resale/collector value by losing the wheels.

I don't love them either, but if I had a GP, I'd store them until needed.
