I have a 350Z too. Really, they are both my favourite cars, though I edge to the MINI personally. Just don't tell the kids.....

I'm sorry MINI lost. They are the biggest winners in my book.

I went & voted for the BMW in the new contest because I am still mad at the 350Z for beating the MINI

MINI did very well winning the Passenger car bracket.

Even losing it got more votes than the winning X5 in the other contest.

I voted for the X5 (I like underdogs- but it's not going to be easy to beat the Z car).

I just wanted to chime in and say it was a fun time watching the nissan forums as well as this forum get excited and push the respective sides to vote. I found more entertainment in that more than the voting itself.

I personally like the Mini. I liked them before I got into Nissans. Still admire them cruisin down the streets. But Since i'm an Nissan freak thru and thru, I did vote Nissan, both for the Altima as well as for the Zed. I don't think posting on 10+ forums and others mass mailing to the nissan community to vote helped much.

It was a great match up. A matchup of internet forum communities.

Fun stuff.

Btw. I like the forums here. Good stuff.

^^ This is cool!

Thanks for swinging by NAM and hanging out for a while. It was a good match-up but you Z people just got more in! Congrats!

I don't know what happened either - I don't recall moving it here (don't know why I would?). I just cleaned it up. Now back to your regularly scheduled thread...

I dunno...I had a Z for awhile and thought it was a great car. I'll admit, the Mini is more fun to drive, but the Z was faster and handled better at higher speeds. Can't really go wrong with either.

Thank you for saying that correctly.

many times people say "I could care less" - does that mean they love something? The correct saying is "I couldn't (as in could NOT) care less" which means you care so little as it would be impossible to care less. sorry, just a pet peave of mine.

btw. congrats z folkks who are reading this thread. ya pulled more people (or at least IP address) together than us. we read your thread too and yup - it was entertaining.

edit:

PS. I'd vote for the Z over the X5 Simply because it is a sports car vs a SUV. I'd rather have a sports car than a sporty truck any day.

Some say "vote for kin". Do you think the majority of the BMW crowd appreciates us? (sure, some are smart enough to have both)

I couldn't agree more!

I voted for the 350Z today. Can't POSSIBLY let a dreaded SUV win the whole thing!

I, for one, like the Z. Before I saw The Italian Job (I admit that movie did it for me), I was going to look at a Z.

edited to add - please don't let those with bad attitudes on NAM reflect your overall opinion of us MINI owners as a whole. I'm sure the same could be said about the Z forums.

Well, I have always thought the 350Z is a fugly car and the Inifniti G35 coupe as the better looking of the two (but still meh looking from the front).

And I owned a 300ZX Twin Turbo for 10 years (still have my 198.2MPH track time sheet framed on the wall). Loved that car.

I understand and agree. 'I could care less' means that you care, so why bother saying it? 'I couldn't care less' means that you care about as little is as possible, or not at all, and is the correct phrase.

Yes, but why say "I no longer could care less", when the much simpler phrase "Now I couldn't care less" would suffice, and be less confusing to others?

Because I like twisting words around. =op =o)

How about simply, 'I don't care at all, not even in the least likely little bit!' =o]

In a recent gmail chat with the wife:

me: would you be opposed to me taking a sexy pictures of you lying on the mini in a bikini or other scantily clad type clothing and posting it on NAM, thus making you an icon for men's obsessions all over the mini world?

her: and what do I get out of this?

me: um...
being the topic of many fantasies?

her: lol

me: um... love and adoration from me?
being the coolest mini owners wife evah?

her: hahaha...
sure

me: WHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
I swear I married the coolest woman ever!

Well Shank, you're in the running anyway. Some of the pics I've taken of my wife with the Mini can't be posted!

AND she autocrosses with me!

Just make sure she is only near your MINI or in your MINI, don't let her climb on the roof of your MINI!
