After reading all I can about the R56 and the various opinions people have formed between the R53 and R56, I've taken a shot at the top 10 reasons why one is better than the other.
Its humour all. If you dont want to laugh, move on. Its not serious. Caveat. These are not my opinions nor reflect those of anyone else, NAM, or MINI

- Cause 17 R53 enthusiasts say so …
- Warranty Work! R53 lovers love to visit their dealers and check out all the new motoring accessories while waiting for their cars to have warranty work done.
- Because you can easily drop $20K in mods and still not be done
- One word … SMALLER
- Because the headlights can point to the sky
- Because MINI really blew it with the R56 interior center console. Talk about ugly
- Real Sporting cars have a harsh suspension, not a soft wushy feeling.

And the #1 reason why the R56 is better than the R53?- Direct Injection
- JCW Brakes
- American way … bigger is always better
- Because MINI has decided to move on. Get over it.
- Because Bigger means it ain’t a clown car anymore (well maybe, the jury is still out. It's still cute)
- Because there is going to be many more variations. Variety is the spice of life.
- Better gas mileage
- Because the car is so new, everyone can test drive it and write-up their own car review and be a adhoc, de facto on-line auto journalist

As an R53 owner, you must be out of your %#&*%^ mind! As usual, your opinions are divisive and calculated to inflame! This is outrageous!
