Any younger MINI Drivers out there?
22 and I am paying for it myself, insurance and all! Is that young enough?
Weird to see 16-18 year olds on here, my parents wouldn't drop more than $10k on a first car for a kid. And even that was extreme, kid#1 got a $3k car (back in 2000 mind you), I was $6k, and last child they figured they'd spend a bit more to make it last longer, since my car was literally breaking in major places when I sold it (A/C dunzo, clutch is gonna go in the next 10k mi, cheap VW plastic parts starting to fail, etc). But a $20k car? Nooooo way. Guess I'm becoming one of those old geezers going "today's youth is so spoiled!"
+1. Got a few grand off the old car that my parents had bought for me and that I sold privately. Other than that, I'm using hard earned summer-job money and now FT job is paying car payments. Woot! Thank god for having no tickets/accidents, my insurance would probably eat me alive otherwise!

I agree,, uber spoiled! My parents gave me 1500 towards my passat that I bought for 6k when i was 18... Bought my MINI 3 years ago, have worked my *** off and paid it off 4 months ago! No car payments are heavenly!
i think im the only kid in highschool who put money in his car. everybody drives daddies bmw. but this car is mine, all mine, payments gas everything. it makes me feel good wehn i can say "yes its MY car" my parents did throw in some cash for the initial purchase tho

I worked my *** off at a pizza place in high school to buy an 84 corvette. Parents helped a little but mostly on me. It was a good experience. Bought my mini when I was out of college and at a stable job when I was 23
Yup..17 when i got my 06 R53 s. I was the only kid in highschool that actually purchased and financed it by my self. The only thing the rents kicked in was the cosign and the first 6 months of insurance.
Im now 21 with a Fully loaded 11 clubman s due in later this month
i sold my r53 in January to get my business really going (started it when i was 18) and as hard as it was selling her it was worth it....Especially now with "Alyssa" on the way.
This was Brittany

20 years old, drove around a 98 s10 for almost five years that I paid 1200 for and got my parents to co-sign on my loan for my 08 cooper s. I work everyday and defend you guys to pay for it. Wouldn't trade my life for anything! Even tho my insurance and car payment are a little over a third of what I make a month!

22 w/ a 2011 MCS..Got it as my grad present to myself after college. Now with the car payment, school loans, and other monthly bills this is defiantly a challenge. LOVE my car though and is still well worth it almost 2 months later. Still hate Sallie Mae however...
Argh!!! I hate Sallie Mae!!!
I'm currently 19yrs old, Connecticut anyone??
Unfortunately.. I wrecked my baby bad today... Lost traction on sand on the highway and hit the guard rail. Hopefully it's not totaled, but my mechanic said it might be. ='(
