Does your MINI have a name?
Love it! Until I found NAM and read this thread, I was about half embarrassed that I'd named mine to begin with. No longer!
My MINI is Pretje. I've been studying Dutch for the past couple of years, and "pretje" means basically "small bit of fun," as in, "Hij houdt van een pretje." (Translated: He loves a bit of fun.) It really seemed to fit the MINI experience so perfectly... Although to be clear, the MINI is the "small" bit—the "fun" is actually quite large, I'm finding. ;-)

Well, after around 2 years of ownership, my car finally has a name. My girlfriend has dubbed it "GoDammit" since that always seems to be what I'm shouting at other drivers on the freeway while driving it. *sigh* If people would just learn to use the skinny pedal my Mini wouldn't have ended up with such a name
OMG... Hahahahahahaha! Best one yet!
wouldnt it be cool, if there was a town where the only people that lived there, was people that owned Minis! we probably wouldnt have accidents or dings in our cars, and everyones car would always run great because we would all be fixing each others problems!
Cooper Town! or some other such "cute" name ;P

Great name, perfect fit!
Pret is how you'd expect (same as English). Sorta difficult to explain in writing, but the "je" suffix sort of sounds like "ya" as in the conversational short form of "you." But coupled-up with that "t" however, it often has an almost "ch" sound to it. So sorta halfway between "pretya" and "pretcha" I suppose.
Pret, by the way, is the Dutch noun for fun. The "je" is a diminutive, sorta like Jim -> Jimmy, and just implies smallness. The Dutch are keen (and prolific) users of diminutives... Not that you asked! LOL

Hehehe! Thanks...

Mine is called "Roderick", but is pronounced "Wodawick" as in "Wewease Wodawick" or "Wewease Weginald" or even "Woger". I like to say "I must wewease Woodawick" when I head out in the car. It drives my wife nuts, which is why I keep saying it

~Minikins~-small, beloved and proud of it!
Mine has been renamed by the neighborhood. The (gown up) little boy next door always called me Miss Penny. It's a Southern thang! One day he got all excited to tell me something and ran into the house yelling "**** Menny". I was forever called by that Moniker, still am.....and so is my car. "Pis Mini"
2012 MCS, Spiced Metallic Orange/black, with toys, and no longer called Punkin by anybody but me.

His name is Fergus (lightning blue/white top hatch s) His metrosexual looks regularly draw the ire of Macho big truck dudes who posture aggressively. Fergus is unfazed, knowing full well they could never catch us. He is, however, quite embarrassed about his ugly shoes (stock wheels) and grows impatient for more stylish footwear.

My 2008 Mellow Yellow MCS was Percy, named by my granddaughter after the "Lightning Thief". this kind of made a mess of things when I bought a 2013 Lightning Blue MCS. But, as my maternal grandfather was named Percy we have decided against this one's temporary name of "Blue Peter", in favour of "Leonard", my paternal grand fathers name. LOL

I've decided to call mine Cora - after the Cora in EastEnders. Wikipedia describes her as a brash, loud lady who likes to tell everyone what she thinks and has absolute no shame. Also, it describes her as having a brash, outspoken attitude and that she does not care who she offends."
