Dave that's inspired. I love it. Plus, elphebas hot, in the musical!

I never named my first MINI... It was just ' the MINI'... Though I've noticed, while awaiting the ship to land with the new Clubman S I've habitually been calling it 'Longboy'

Need assistance naming my new r55s

My r55s is on order and I'm looking for some name suggestions. It is Eclipse Grey with body colored roof & mirrors with Infinite Stream wheels and Rooster Red interior. My first name is "Turbo Pup" which goes well with "Turbo Dog" our Acura RDX, but it just doesn't seem British enough.

Any ideas for me?

Beings as everyone that I know will question me about just a little car, he has been kinda dubbed with the Lil Guy. I, might even get a license plate with that on it as Little Guy wouldn't fit, so Lil Guy. Of course my wife has the final say on his name.

Greyfriars Bobby, if that's not too obscure.

Keeps the canine theme, at least....

My parents named their cars, my sister and I don't. I guess the car naming gene skips a generation.

Cause he was usually depicted in shades of gray & he was distinguished & demanded respect like our Mini's do. Just seemed to 'go'

You sure do learn something new each day! Umm, that one doesn't roll off my tongue so well, but thanks!

It does indeed seem to 'go'! I think Hitchcock is currently in the lead. But will the Mrs approve...I'll submit it tonight.

Others that I'm considering:

Hermano - a reference to Arrested Development - has absolutely no reference to the car itself except that it's the younger brother to our turbo RDX

Had 8 mustangs, never named any of them. First MINI and when a friend jokingly asked, I replied...Gertrude. It just popped into my mind and seemed to fit.

2 weeks of ownership and Gertrude is keeping me smiling each and every mile.

My wife recently bought a 335i. I am a member of a BMW forum now. I can't find any threads on naming cars. Maybe MINIs are girls cars.

JimR56JCW - you are 100% correct !!!!!!

Mini's are girls cars.

Mini's are also boy's car's

They can be a ladies car

They also can be owned by a Man.

They can be owned by many different nationalities as well as Gay people or straight people.

They really are no different then any other car in the whole wide world because they could be owned by anyone that wants to purchase or steal one.

That is why I say you are 100% correct in your stupid statement.

Beast Boy

When I got him he was "Wee Beastie". My 2nd month I was starting a road trip and hit a mule deer at 70 MPH. Much like Steve Austin he needed to be rebuilt. I then found out about "after market products" and "track days"

Last mod was a DoS Cold Air Intake and I know there will be more...Wee Beastie has been re-born as "Beast Boy"

As you can tell from my sig, yeah, my MINI has a name. Admittedly I refer to my MINI as "she" or "her", or by her given name: Ruffian.

How it came about: my drive home on the happy day was about 45 miles. After ten minutes of suburban driving we hit the interstate. 4th gear, 5th gear, 6th, and my MINI just kept pulling, and pulling...my immediate thought was "damn she likes to run, just like a thoroughbred!". So I got home & Googled for historic racehorses, and fillies at that (as I think of my MINI as a "she"). I learned that Ruffian is considered by many fans of the sport to be the most famous & legendary filly of 'em all, and that's how she was named.
