Today was DCMM's first official run of the year (and my first as a member). Everyone had a great time and I thought I'd post some Space Blue love

I love my Space Blue! Got it in late Dec '06 and added 17" cabrio rims plus euro tail lights (w/ amber turn signals)... Here are some snaps:

 

nice cooper!! this dragon thing is about a bunch of mini owners getting together around an awesome stretch of road between tennesee and north carolina. You also get to see all the different mods and customizations you hear and see pictures about on here. If you ever have a chance to go, you just have to experience it at least once.

thanks for creating this space blue thread -- it inspired me to get mine -- mine is also one of the last of the space blues (12/06 build)

You're welcome for creating the thread, mine was one f the very first SB checkmates october 2005 build. And I don't know how close you consider Colorado, but there is Mini's in the Mountains in I think August. There is also AMVIV in las vegas and a few others that I know I'm missing, just pay attention to NAM and you'll see when and where they are.

Hi everyone...long time no see!

I just had to show everyone my new stripes. I did them today since it was a beautiful day to hang out with my Gypsy. It wasn't as hard as I thought. I got them from http://aestheticreations.net/ they fit perfect and the color is right on!

 

One more in north TX. No mods yet, it's my daily driver.

Love the pics and stories here! Hubby and I purchased our space blue Mini in December 2005...we were living in England at the time, about 10 miles north of Oxford, so we had the opportunity to go to the Mini plant to see it on the production line (it's American-spec). We picked it up on 27 December--great Christmas present! We're now tooling around in Miami. Anyway, we went with the space blue w/silver but without the Checkmate (which was an option at the time in England--not sure if it was in the USA), and haven't seen one exactly like it since...alot come close tho! Are we a cabbage patch doll? If not, post your pics, I'd like to meet my twin!

I haven't seen one exactly like yours, nor have I seen one exactly like mine I special ordered UK rear amber turn signals for my American MINI and got cabrio rims off eBay...

What were you cats doing in the UK? I took a tour of the factory, but that was almost a full year before I got mine... You are brave to drive on the wrong side! I can do it with a British car, but would be afraid to do it with an American one!

 

Hmmmm....over a year without any activity here......Space Blue must be getting rarer all the time !

I realize that this is off topic,and apologize for hi-jacking the thread, but do any of you Space Bluers out there know if the new MINI color coming out (called Horizon Blue) is similar to Space Blue?

I'd really like to get some idea of what it looks like and the pic offered at the following is not clear enough to determine the color.

 

Tough to tell but in the photos of the convertible it looks real close !



In some shots it looks like cool blue, so maybe its a combination of both ?

 

From the pic it looks paler, but I don't think the true color of Space Blue ever does show just right in a pic....
