Yoda - I had a '71 Super Beetle in that exact same color when I was in high school. Yukon yellow, if memory serves me right. I noticed something peculiar about my car, as well as other VWs in the same color (if they still had the factory paint job) - they seemed to attract flies in the summertime.

I'd be interested in buying that Super Beetle (I've had the itch for an aircooled VW for years now) from you if I didn't have more project cars than I could handle... Good luck with the sale - it's a beautiful car!

When we first bought our MINI we had a 2001 Honda Accord as our second car. We later traded that in for a 2004 Volvo XC90 2.5T AWD. Then we sold the mini for a 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser.

I fully intend to return to the MINI family when our kid gets a bit older and we don't have so much junk to haul on cross country trips.

Mine got a bath yesterday, my buddy Noel helped!

 

First we got the DS R53 for my wife, tweaked it a little..
Then about 9 months later we got another Mini: my R53 GP #0064

I used to have a companycar, unfortunately my new work wouldn't provide one. So I got myself a GP :D

My second "car" is my 2004 Dodge Hemi Ram 1500 pickup. It only gets taken out of the garage when I need to haul or tow something....or I just get the urge to drive around town and get 12mpg and then spend $80 to fill it back up.

Needless to say...I drive my mini 95% of the time

 

My wife and I both have Minis and our other car is a 2010 Ford F350 Dually, crew cab, 8ft bed. In desperate times we could take my teenaged sons 2005 Pontiac Sunfire

 

VW Passat. I actually got the Mini because the Passat was becoming unreliable (after 90k miles ). I still have it for my kids to drive but definitely not for long trips. I think it will be a while before I consider VW again.
