General MINI TalkShared experiences, motoring minutes, and other general MINI-related discussion that applies to all MINIs, regardless of model, year or trim.
It seems like most everyone's "Second" car is as impressive as their Mini's. I guess I'll be a little outside the box with mine. Living in SW Michigan means my second car is my winter beater. 2000 Dodge Dakota w/ 83,000 miles on the clock. Has body damage and is just starting to show rust on the bottom of the driver's door skin. But will cruise at 60mph on the freeway in a blizzard w/o a problem!
I don't own a Mini yet (I'll hopefully be ordering a Mini Cooper S in May!), but my love for Mini is so great that I felt like posting, anyway . I'm currently driving a 2005 Saturn ION, and I cannot WAIT for the lease to be up on this thing!
Prior to this, I drove a 1994 Saturn SL2, which (save for the oil guzzling issue) was actually a more reliable vehicle than my current one.
Everyone is welcome to post! Even the folks who don't own MINIs yet. Welcome to the fandom and I'll keep my fingers crossed that you are able to place that order!
MINI is going to replace my '98 Honda Prelude. My other car is a '99 Honda Odyssey. When we replace that one...which probably will be next year or so, I expect to get another Honda Odyssey or perhaps something slightly smaller...maybe the CR-V.

My other car is a beige '67 VW Beetle I call "Biospherian". I also have a black and white company car-'07 Ford Crown Vic. My wife drives an Iridium Silver MB GLK and my daughter drives a black '08 Honda Civic 4-dr.

LOVE my hubby's CRV. It's actually really nice to drive for as large as it is. It's even not very awkward switching between it and my MINI. It has lots of punch and corners well for its size. I expected it to handle like a pig, and while it's not as nice in the handling department as the MINI, Honda surprised me with a crossover SUV that handles better than a Corolla. If you have any q's about the CRV, feel free to DM me. Ours is a 2008 so it's a current gen model.
If you do decide to go there, get the EX-L. It's really worth the extra coin!
My MINI has just landed on dry land in NJ. I should pick her up next week.
Currently now have only my 2nd car, a 2000 Grand Cherokee w/ 113,000 miles. That's the schlepping stuff around vehicle.
