Arkansas... place for MINI's?

Considering moving to Bentonville, Arkansas....NO Mini dealer in the whole friggin state. I have a 2005 MCSa and it is not the most reliable car thus far (8k miles and already 3 visits). S/C bypass valve went out a couple weeks ago and already went through the EML-SES fiasco...What should I do....sell my car???? or brave it? I will have to drive to Memphis TN or Oklahoma City, OK for a Mini dealer... Does Mini tow for free from far places? How am I going to pick up my car after service....What should I do????

I hate to say this...

You are either going to pay for your repairs or buy a Japanese car.

Don't fear there are alot of MINI 's in northwest Arkansas.

Your closest dealer would be Jackie Cooper in Edmond, OK (Okie City) or Kansas City.
As we speak my '05 is in Edmond, first time in a year though other than scheduled maintence. SES light.

Yes MINI will pick you up on a roll back anywhere, your responsible to go retrieve it from the dealer when the work is finished.

Your going to love the twisties in the mountains here in AR. they're just minutes from B'ville.

anymore questions just PM me. hope this helps.

My driver used to say, "The only reason to be in Texas is to be driving out of it." It is so big that you can drive from San Diego through CA, AZ, and half of NM to El Paseo and only be half way to Beaumont TX.

Is this the I wish I was in Arkansas thread? Count me in. My MINI is out of waranty so that is not a problem, and I am ready to get back to the south. Havent been there for three years. Havent lived there in eight. Hope to get back in the next few years. I know some roads around Hot Springs that Bumble would love to go down.

My dad lives in Mountain Pine, and I used to take 7 all the time in my Chevette, it would be twice as fun in the MINI. One day I will get back there.

Arkansas! It's a great place to live with a MINI! Last month a group of us took the Arkansas twisties by storm. Hwy 23 -- The Pig Trail -- was awesome! If you can't make it to the dragon, you've always got the pig. Long live the pig!

Isn't it if you're more than 100 miles away, they'll flatbed it to the dealership?

And Jackie Cooper MINI in Edmond is really a super dealership. They're quite generous with our club <okmini.com> as evidenced by about $1000 in door prizes at our Christmas Party and before that an Amazing MINI Race event in which they awarded about $1000 in dealership gift certificates. And they've always treated me very well -- and I didn't even buy there! I got mine in Memphis before JCM opened up.

Go for it! I don't know if there's a NWA club, but you can always come the the Oklahoma events!

Good luck!!
- Angie

maybe you can find a BMW dealer or european tuner shop or something
and have them service your car.

Southern AR

Nearest dealer is 250 miles away but did not deter me. Lots of great twisties all over AR.

Yeah, it's a place for MINIs, just not a place for PEOPLE !

My apologies to those Arkansans who like your home state. But hey, I was stationed there for three years so I think that gives me the right to judge it, k ?

And I must admit, around Little Rock and north of there, it's not so bad. It's the remaining 75 percent of the state that leaves a lot to be desired. And yes, you'll find some pretty good motoring roads to drive on... just watch out for those razorbacks !

Speaking as someone who has lived in Arkansas for 63 years let me say............................I agree with you.

I grew up in Eastern Arkansas in the 40's & 50's and it was great.....but it changed, and I escaped to Russellville in the west central part of the state in 1970. Lot's of beautiful lightly traveled roads for motoring. If the locals would stop trashing the roadsides it would be almost perfect.

Lived here in Fayetteville, AR for my life so-far and the MINI's are popping up all over the place. I usally send mine either to OK or to Baron MINI where I bought him in Kansas City. BTW smarties Fayetteville just won the best place to live in the US award. We are always in the top ten but I heard that we just took 1st place. For everyone here already look for Austin he's a 2005 MCS CR/W with white bonnet stripes and Union Jack driving light covers can't miss us.
