Hello Californians,
Planning a trip to CA in February. I plan to visit LA, San Diego, Mt. Palomar. Mulholland Drive and drive to coast to Big Sur. Any suggestion on a canyon road I should visit while there?
Thank you
Bouquet Canyon Road past lake Castaic is awesome and very scenic. But if you just want to blast up straight out mid-valley then you'll find some very stuff up here in the LA forrest.
. San Diego, you have to freeway it East quite a bit but I remember some interesting roads 1/2 way between Sd and LA like off 15 somewhere, sorry but its been nearly 30 years for me. luckily we have younger members more recently local. Hope this helps, have fun, these are the roads i learned to drive upon.
If your trip involves mountains don't forget the cables! In some parks you have to have them in the car even if current weather is fine. Those twists can get slippery real quick! Had to dress up my wheels when entering Sequoia National Forest back in December 2014.
