2015 S Mirror Covers

Good Afternoon,

The 2015 S that I am looking to buy has red/white/blue union jack mirror covers which I do not like. Are these decals that can be removed or do I need to buy plain black mirror covers?

Thank you,
Bob

I believe if they're OEM, the mirrors will need to be replaced to remove the Union Jack. I guess you could try to vinyl wrap for a cheaper option.

Sometimes they are cheap Chinese overlay covers that easily come off. If they are true OEM, you could probably post them up in the marketplace and easily trade them for black ones with someone wanting the bling. The OEM ones come off easily as well.

Painted on. You could wrap them or get another type you like and then sell those on the marketplace here.

easy to paint as well ....

btw there are both covers with this color pattern (from the factory)

AND overlays (not a sticker but a thin plastic cover that glued on ....)

so you may want to verify what ya got!

see https://www.outmotoring.com/_search....categoryid=948

replacement miror covers are $90 EACH here . . .

I recently bought a 2016 F56, that came with JCW half red/half checker mirror caps. I didn't like them either ( I am against posing as something you aren't ), and wish the original owner tossed the original factory Pepper White caps in with the MINI.

You can find new and used caps offered for sale, either here in the Market Place "For Sale" section, or on eBay, and many times they are reasonably priced.

BTW, as mentioned above, the low cost products are many times not actually caps, but rather simply very thin covers that use 2-side tape to go over (and therefore re-use) your existing caps. Nothing wrong with going that way, but just make sure you are getting what you think are you are getting.

Also, since you have a 2015, you don't need the light projector hole in the driver's side cap or cover. When selecting, be aware of that too.
