Which looks better, Chrome or Blacked out Chrome
I was thinking of blacking out the belt line but I am not into blacking out all of the Chrome on my
Mini.
I need to know if some blacking out is OK or do you have to go all out and do it all.
Let me see your Black out photos and your thoughts on doing the Black out Mods.

I am fan of the black trim and have either swapped out or vinyl covered the chrome trim on my e46 to matte finish shadowline. We're going a similar route with Grumpy, our liquid yellow r53 MINI. Someone had previously plastidipped a lot of the trim (and the cowl panel, and more!) and it's still a mess we're trying to clean up. With the black roof we've been going more towards gloss black over matte, though. We have gloss black trimmed headlights, though the cowl vents and front grilles are still plastidipped. The hood scoop is gloss black, but mostly because it needed replaced and gloss black got it on the car quickly. The side scuttles are still chrome, as is the belt line trim. I'd like to get some honeycomb (JCW style) grilled as I think they flow better and would clean things up a bit.
I'm old school so I prefer chrome. Not 1959 Cadillac levels of chrome but I'll always leave the chrome on a Mini. On the other hand, my son has a black and red JCW Paceman and the chrome is all blacked out. It looks very good.
MINIs are one of the few vehicles on the road where personalization adds to the look. If you had a Honda Civic, the answer would be a recommendation to leave it unchanged. With a MINI, if you painted the chrome pink, most of us would appreciate it as an artistic statement.
I like chrome on a black car for the contrast but would black it out on a white car for the same reason.
An option if you are not sure if you will like it is Plastidip. You can easily change your mind and rub it off and try something different.
Either way, post some pictures of before and after.

I'm not a fan of the two-tone look some people go for by blacking out all chrome and painting the wheel arches to match the body. Makes the car look much more boring to me.
