Chrome Appreciation Guild

Ok this is a quick post but I will add more if there is interest like the other "clubs" on NAM.

So many strive to "black out" their MINI.

I on the other hand appreciate the use of chrome on the MINI and do not compare it to the typical SUV Bling.

The MINI has sweet curves and the chrome accentuates them. It makes me think of the classic cars that used to have some style.

I am not attacking those who "black out" the MINI because that looks awesome also, just lets get some ideas together to take advantage of the chrome on the MINI

I like the chrome on the Mini and won't ever black mine out. The solid door handles are great, they really make the car feel solid.

Chrome appreciation?? Well, in that case let me mention that the only proper grill for a MINI is a chrome one....not body colored, or black.....chrome. Period. There, I said it!!

While I do like some of the blacked out MINIs on here, I like the chrome on my MCS. It's not over the top like most SUVs you see these days. I like the chrome touches, like the door handles. Makes the car seem more substantial.

I've got the Aero kit on my car now, and in many ways I wish I could fit the stock grille on the aerokit front bumper.

I'm also thinking about adding the chromeline retrofit for my interior. It should contrast my recently installed CF dash better than the normal silver colored pieces.

As much as I love my new dash, I really hate how the gauge surrounds are silver on my car. Doesn't seem to go well with the CF, in my eyes...

I'm going to order the chrome line pieces after I get back from working out in the field (a couple weeks from now)...

Admittedly, I'm not a huge fan of chrome, but some of the blue coopers look nice with chrome hood scoops!

Ahhh... yes!

I love my "bling" so count me in!

Never understood the black-out thing but hey... whatever... to each his own. I love the chrome because it's one of the few things (in my mind) that makes the MINI like the Classic Mini. (And yes... I dream of owning one someday!)

My favorite chrome parts are the grill and the roll bars. Love 'em!

Wow that escalated quickly!

It makes me feel good to see others actually like chrome. I will try to make up a badge or something for the signatures if anyone is interested.

The R53 owners with a chrome grill have gone "above and beyond" in my opinion, and deserve a big pat on the back!!!

I have chromeline exterior and interior. I think the chrome mirror caps look great with the ligntening blue/black trim exterior and the chrome interior is particularly nice with the piano black and anthracite. I almost went with the chrome hood scoop but changed my mind thinking it might be a tad too much.

Anyone have a picture of a blue mini with the chrome scoop?

I like chrome in moderation, the R50 got it just about right I thought, with the chrome grill and the chrome hatch handle. So when we got Quentin we got the chrome package. The chrome mirrors are a bit much, so we got them swapped out for white ones.

The R56 Cooper-S doesn't seem to have a Chrome grill options that I could find, so we didn't get a chrome grill with Shawn. I still like the chrome grill look.

I also like the chrome offered from the factory. Not too much, but still blings in the sunlight. I also find the "blacked out" look banal and really quite ugly. That statement isn't an attack on the people who do it - just their taste

(same goes for the painted headlight thing, bleck!)

It's The Chrome Club for ME!!

I'll be adding MORE Chrome here soon. I've already got the Chrome Line Interior including the Chrome Speaker Rings. I'm going to be getting the Chrome Line Exterior (Lower Grill & Fog Light Surrounds)!! Added the British Flag Side Scuttles Mid-April...they've got CHROME on them!!

What about 1st Gen R52's?

BTW- I have to admit that although I purchased both cars "new"... I had no part in the building/ordering process. We adopted both as they are (except for aftermarket wheels) from dealerships. The 2005 was coming in on the boat and headed to somewhere in the middle of the country... but it was snagged for us by the dealership in Jacksonville, FL. The 2008 was bought from new inventory in Houston, TX. Already on the lot for a week or so before I found it. We flew there and drove it home. But anyway, I loved the chrome on the '05 and knew I needed it on the '08 too. I am one that thinks the shoes and accessories should match!
