I just bought this scanner on Amazon. Not bad, was able to clear codes that wouldn't clear with my "Scan Gauge" and get live readings. Documentation is scarce, but for the price don't think you can beat it for a BMW/Mini specific scanner.

 

for $39.98. It's the same model sold on Dinan's site, but for $30 cheaper.

 

Yep that's cheaper, but also generic. The one I listed is BMW/Mini specific. Will read and clear codes a generic won't see/clear.

 

I've used a Creator BMW scanner and it worked very well, $47 isn't bad either. The Generic scanners are great for older cars but won't read many of the specific system codes that BMWs use (IE: DSC, SRS, etc).

 

Everyone note that this scanner is for F-Series MINIs only.

 

I think you misread this section of the ad on amazon: " Mini (For F series cars, only support read and clear trouble codes)"

What they are saying is that if you have a F-series, you will only be able to read and clear trouble codes.

It works fine on R series (I have a R56, N12) and have used several other features on the scanner.
