mini striptease

I stripped my Mini's bottom to take a peek. We made some progress in installing the CoolerWorx long shifter.

still WIP ; Mini is indecent

For a while I was wondering were the reverse gear is.

So it turns out indeed I didn't find the reverse gear until the next day. All the mechanical installation is done now. I am deferring the cosmetic part of the installation until I am absolutely sure it is truly an "upgrade". More details on my installation in my R53 street car named Desire is here that I want to keep in my thread.

fast shifting at the track

The Mini has gone to the track many times now this season sporting the "long shiftter". It is all good. So good that I can never go back to the stock shifter. For Gen 1 modifying the floor console took the most time to make it look factory.

it seems only yesterday that Mini dreamed of this

here is a track action video where you can see the shorter reach; I really like the added traction by the knurling surface on the shift ****; I am glad that I was given no choice but the black shift ****

I should mention that I have not needing to adjust the set screws on the shifter once I get them set properly at the end of the installation. Driving on the track definitely put the shifter as well as my installation to the test.
