K&n air filter questions

I just installed K&n air filter for the first time... On my 2014 Paceman. I was expecting to hear the turbo sucking sound but it's not there. Could this be because I ah a jb+ installed also... It was hard to tell if I receiveed any gain since the jb has been on for only 2 days so can't really tell the difference. Was I expecting too much from the k&n... I know what I have read about it on the Mini though..

The major change I hear is when I let off the throttle after hard acceleration you can hear the whoosh of the BOV releasing pressure.

don't expect much from just a filter element change

now an intake on the other hand .... noise wise anyway

but

in general there are reports/opinions that the alleged HP gains of both are more dream that reality ... butt HP gains an individual feels however ....

btw I use K&N in most of my vehicles .... just for their 'reusable' feature ....

With a panel filter you will not get much noise gain, if any at all. Now with a CAI or open intake ( which will be the loudest ), you will get much more noise, then change the BOV a vent to atmosphere and even more noise.
