Front license plates (center aligned)

I live in Texas where front plates are mandatory. All I could find online are the tow hook based plates, which are not center-aligned. I hate the way it looks and don't want to go that route.

Is there a way to mount the plates on a form fitted mount that goes on the bumper strip? I don't want to drill and install the plates directly on the bumper.

I made my own center aligned license plate bracket.

Pretty easy to make using some sheet metal and Velcro and two zip ties for a backup.

Take a look at my Gallery and I believe their is a photo of my front license plate.

If you send me a PM with your email address, I can send a drawing of how to make it if the photo does not give enough detail.

Can't you just install the stock MINI front plate mount?

I believe you still have to drill into the front bumper for the plastic License Plate mount.

If that does not bother you, order that part and go for it !

Go to junkyard and pick up a late 80's honda plastic front plate mount. Install matching velcro strips and flip upside down (holds plate from sliding out) and center mount on MINI. Less than $10 and no holes, secure at all speeds.

Are you not wanting to drill holes at all or not wanting to secure the plate into the bumper by itself?

Is it new? It should have come with the license plate bracket like Aoxo linked to (the one he linked though is for a 1st gen MINI - won't fit the F55). If it is new, check the trunk (under the floor if you have the storage package) for a plastic bag with the bracket in there. If you don't have it, the actual part number for the proper F55 bracket is 51137362747

Yes, its right here and on the bumper , just barely u will see two little indents, those a the alignment marks to drill the bumper to mount the plate holder.

+1 It should be in a bag in the trunk with the other goodies if you bought it new, unless the dealership took it out in pre inspection. Some dealerships do that in states that don't require front plates.
