Hi guys,

My air-con seems to work although not very strongly. When I turn the air-con on, I hear a hissing bubbling sound from the footwell. Is this normal?

It's a Cooper S 2005.

I make a recording, the sound is especilly audible directly after turning the air-con off and then the sound dies away.

I'm sure sure if it's a leak or what? Maybe just a sympotm of low gas. If it's a leak I guess aircon would stop working but it has been like this for many days and does blow cold-ish.

 

I'm about to take the car to the AC guys. We'll see if they detect a leak.

 

No leaks detected and aircon re-gassed. Hissing noise from footwell still remains. I guess it is just the refrigerant evaporating in the cabin evaporator.
