Oil Return Line Washers - Mid project

Okay, stupid questions, but my repair manual and my online research doesn't seem to show a good answer.

So I replaced the turbo on my wife's '10 Clubman. Upon start up, the oil feed line is leaking. Brand new line, new washers.

Got to thinking if I put too many washers in. I put one on each side of the banjo fitting. Not sure if that is why it is leaking, or if they just didn't seat right the first time. It was torqued properly. First start up it actually leaked significantly so I went back at it and torqued it down about 20% more than spec. That slowed it but didn't stop but I didn't want to go any further.

I did order a new bolt and new washers.

So, really the question. Do the washers go only one one side of the banjo fitting, or both? If one side, I'm assuming engine side only?

Both sides,

Makes sure the place were is seats on the turbo its clean and flat and not a rust build up on the edge.
