I have. It's huge, you can't miss it. First one I saw in person was in the produce section of my local Whole Foods. Not exactly where I expected to find a MINI but it was a pleasant surprise. I stood there for like 10 minutes staring at it. I probably looked like a crazy person. As a former R55 owner the Clubman has a special place in my heart. Unfortunately the F55 doesn't share the same spot. It's way too big and I hate the 4 doors in general. I LOVE that it's going to be available in an ALL4 option but I'd still buy a Countryman over the new Clubman if I really needed AWD. More likely I'll just continue to always own a 2WD MINI and a Subaru for the fun Mid Atlantic winters. The new Clubman is visually interesting and the interior is gorgeous but none of that is enough to overcome my aversion to it's overall dimensions...

One on the road and most others at the dealership, looks like it will be a good one for MINI based on the new owner feedback.

It's a full foot longer than its predecessor, now the same size as a VW Golf. Just buy a 4dr GTI instead.

I just don't understand these comments, I completely understand why MINI would make a competitor to the golf. And I just don't see the golf gti as the end all be all of performance hatches, as there are positives and negatives to each. I don't like VW dealers or their styling, but this car is exactly what I would buy, and my dealer is really cool.

I have seen a few on the road being used by real owners (and not test drives). I went with my wife to have a look, but not test drive one, not too long ago. Seems the lack of an accessory power socket in the boot was a show stopper for my wife.

Does anybody know if there is one back there?

I don't see one in the boot, but there is one in the back seat behind the center console - just under the heating/AC vents.

Sorry to confuse you but I was trying to point out there may be better alternatives if you're looking for a car as big as the new Countryman. The GTI consistently beats MIN in every comparo I've seen and has a better reputation for reliability. I like my R56 but if I was in the market for a larger car the Countryman wouldn't be on my shortlist.
