I'm assuming another vehicle rear ended you. How did you manage to get a dent on the hood? Did you take pictures? Did they have insurance? Do you have uninsured coverage? Did you get a police report? None the less costs will vary widely depending on the shop you select, and none of it should come out of your pocket.

I feel your pain...Last month an SUV rear ended my 2005MCS in a parallel parking spot and drove away. Cops never found them. The nearby parking lot cam was too crappy so see anything even though our cars were the closest to it.

I got 2 quotes about 2 weeks ago from big name repair shops to replace my hatch, bumper and paint both. 1 of them actually replaced my hood and front bumper back in December when i rear ended someone else(they did a good job, so i went back to get this quoted). You better sit down, because it ain't pretty.... the shops were $80 apart. 1) $1930ish. 2) $2023.02(i still have that quote on my desk) Your's will obviously be more since you have more damage, but the paint labor is the bulk of the price. You can PM me and i can give you more of a break down if you want it.

I found a hatch at a local junk yard for $200 and another guy to spray it for $350- just painting. That's me doing all the tear down and re-installing all the emblems. Emblems aren't cheap, and i'm sure i'll need a new striker plate (were the hatch latches to the car)

The car that hit you, do they have insurance?.. If you're going to have to source parts for this repair you can try www.car-part.com. If you're wanting to source new parts you can look at our parts catalog here. Post up some pictures, let's see how bad the damage looks. Sorry to hear about this.

Here are some photos. Dose not look real bad, however the estimate sits right now is $4954.17. That is without the pricing for some items.

LOL, I wasn't trying to be snarky, members here love to see pix when questions come in about accident damage. While the damage seems somewhat light, am not surprised to see an estimate of $5k..

Her insurance has claimed responsibility, 100%, estimate was from the shop I prefer. Once parts are in Ill drop off the car and they will provide rental car.

Taken with the sense of humor it was intended. Need a laugh today.

Last time I had a fender bender I had several estimates and the insurance estimate. All the shops said, it will be double the cost of the insurance estimate.

Once they tore into, sure enough there was more that was not visible and the cost almost doubled.

While not a MINI the hood had a bend in it like your and the insurance said to repair. The body shops all said no way. Too much labor, and got the insurance to pony up for a replacement.

Good luck.

My pleasure. That's good to hear! And I am happy that the insurance company will be covering the costs. Make sure to post up pictures of your Mini all put back together.

Dropped off Rose at the body shop yesterday. Estimate went up a little to 5500, due out by the 12th. New Parts coming from Eastbay Mini in Pleasaton, CA. Driving a Jeep Patriot rental car until then. Not pleased with it, but it was better than the Yaris they tried to put me in.

On the happier note Looks at a used 2014 Countryman allwheel S today. Pretty in Green, loaded with only 5K miles. Is it bad to have 2?
