Day One....

So today's my first full day as a Mini owner... Top was down all day, sun was shining, 30 min in realized I need to buy sunscreen lol, saw 2 other Minis and got a wave from the owners. At work, parked in a spot to see the car out the window, I was in a good mood all day lol...

Something interesting happened though, was showing the car to one of my coworkers and she started emptying out her change purse and threw like $2 of change onto the floor said it was good luck... Anyone heard of this??

Anyway I get out at 11pm, my 2014 Jetta GLI has a moon roof, but there is nothing like riding top down on a clear night... Completely different experience...

So for Day One, I am completely happy with my mini purchase. Here's to my first few miles and to many more 🍻🍻🍻

Well I asked on my FB if anyone knew and one of my friends from the NY region said it was for good luck, in case I ever needed gas or a toll fee and didn't have any money, I could always look on the floor and I'd be able to get home

Just tell people it's mandatory to throw change on the floor anytime they get into your Mini. Glad you're enjoying it.

so day two... spent about 2 hrs or so under the bonnet today gave the enginebay a good cleaning, feel terrible tho, i stripped a little paint off the strut towers. I had one towel with water and car soap and the other i had the degreaser sprayed on it, accidentally grabbed the wrong towel and rubbed a little paint, i died a little on the inside :( no one can see it, i mean its under the hood but i know its there and it bothers me

Finally registered it in Texas, it was from Wisconsin, and put it on the insurance... filled up for the first time, i was surprised when i put nearly 14 gal of gas...

I still cant get over how amazing it is to drive at night with the top down... I think this weekend gonna wash and wax the GLI and just park it, and maybe use the mini as a daily

Sounds like if finally getting a real clean. On the strut tower , you can cover some of its with our ECS STPs ( silver or black ) or get a paint pen and touch it up if very small.
