Toggle Switch Decals

Hey everyone,

I always liked the idea of these decals for the toggle switches but cant find anyone who makes them anymore! Would it be worth it to get them custom made? Anyone know where I could get a set? I checked the website for mini pirate but doesn't look like they are still in business.

Thanks!

My son has some of these. I'll ask where he got them. He put the "self destruct sequence sticker on my remote door lock! :>)

There was also the rare Toggle bank cover insert :

I had one installed. Looked really good and was transparent plastic on the images and item. Maybe someone still has one. It was a marketing item. Or you could reprint that image possible?

Also here is the Toggle bank stickers ad sticker.

I guess they stopped giving those to new mini owners. I'm sure someone who does decals would reproduce them if they saw a demand for it. I think vinylstyles used to sell it too? not sure...

Ive never seen the toggle bank cover insert though, that's pretty cool too!

Yes the cover insert is really cool.

Reading the unauthorized manual is pretty good also.

Along the same vein I had therefor my 2003 MINI which arrived as a gift, too. I guess marketing had more cash and better ideas in the past.

I'd sure like to find another set, though.

Maybe I could talk to some decal guys and start a thread gauging interest for something like this. I just wasnt sure if they were already available and I couldnt find it. I know Vinylstyles is good and trusted around here, if anyone else has ideas please chime in!

I have the toggle switch re-labeling kit for my r50. I believe the original owner left it in the car, so the stickers have lost their stickiness. Does anyone have recommendations for a safe way to make them sticky again so I could put them on my car? I was wondering if I should use spray adhesive, automotive double sided tape, any other suggestions? Want it to be safe to remove in the future and don't want to damage the car trim.

I want the Toggle Bank Cover. I just found the "Spy Kit" from a past owner on CraigsList, maybe I will pull it out and see what it has.

Mib4840 - Post up some pics when you get them installed.

Silvery , try the really thin double sided tape, cut to fit. To be safe.

Thanks for the suggestion, I wasn't sure if that stuff would yellow and dry out in the California heat or if it would damage the trim, I guess it's worth a try, I may test it on the underside of the toggles, where I installed my Aux Input switch and see how it holds up

I was out buying some detailing supplies yesterday at the auto shops and looked in the auto adhesive sections, everything seems to be too permanent. I was also looking for some dash stickers with a white or black background but I didn't see any. I figured if they sell stickers for the dash/trim, then I could glue the toggle decals to those and then cut out and peel off the new sticker backing....

I used 303 Aerospace Protectant on the interiors this weekend, so I suppose I should probably prep the surface with an alcohol pad? Or would that be too harsh?

Currently drooling over that new parcel shelf. Would be handy place to place my bluetooth piece since I don't keep it in my ear and just pick it up when answering a call...

I would prep it with a mild solvent, wouldn't use alcohol, sometimes it will take a finish off of certain plastics or gum it up. Windex work good to prep plastic in some cases.

Good luck, hope it works out.

Currnelty in stock, and a nice upgrade for extra room, some people have modded the blank plate for fog light switches or other accessories , so you have that option. Its for the headlight manual level in certain countries that require them.

Thanks and post up some pics when you get the toggles done.

Thanks again for the advice, hopefully next week when I wash and wax I'll do the stickers. If I had not installed my aux input already I would have considered screwing that port into that little blank plate and placed my iPod in the cubby. I ended up getting oddments trays to hold the iPod, phone, etc. But that cubby would be perfect for my girly hair accessories and my bluetooth earpiece, they currently sit in an old Case Logic organizer that has a slim panel that wedges itself between the seat and the center console but often is in the way of the seat belt. And of course doesn't stay put when I access the rear seats. so it would be good to get rid of that in this car.

You can try to print them off from that picture file and then have them printed on sticker paper. Good luck on the find.

Just saw this thread again, wish the new MINIs had this marketing sticker option.

I have used CafePress to print out novelty vinyl bumper stickers for my own use in the past. I even sold a couple of these to random strangers.

That top image might be high enough of a resolution to be printed up on 3 x 5 sticker. All you would have to do is cut them out.

If anyone is interested, I ended up using the Scotch Removable Mounting Squares (.68" x .68") to make mine sticky again, they've held up well. I took a picture of the toggles before the stickers and laminated it to put in the glove box. That way, I can pull it out and put it on the dash when I have to have work done or tires installed so that others know what the toggles correspond to. Scotch's website has the wrong description for the product, there is no foam. Just a clear double sided sticker that is a bit spongy like the stuff they use to stick drugstore products in multipacks to each other.

Silvery - you used the official Toggle Switch Re-Labeling Kit? Right? Could you measure the size of an individual sticker for me? I'm going to try and print some using the Cafe Press site and see what I get.

Thanks.

Thanks.
I took pictures with my ruler, I measured both the entire width and length, and also the lengths in between the curves. I hope that helps. Let me know if that works... Eyeballing it without the camera, I am getting 22/32" overall width and 14/32" overall length. And yes, I used the original, just edited to add an overall picture.

(still wanting to install a red light on the blank toggle space in my car....)
