Goodridge SS Braided Brake lines?

Greetings,
I would just like to know what the general consensus is on the Goodridge SS brake lines, in particular for street use?

My car is a daily driver, hardly ever sees the track. I'm intrested in these because they were imported and the owner is selling them at half the price since his R53 was sold before ever installing them. I want to pounce on them before its too late. I'm still doing some research but some advice would be really helpful.

PS. Anyone have any info on the correct part # to fit a 2004 Cooper S?

Thanks.

I have used them in the past on other non MINI vehicles and had great luck with them. IMO just as good as any other out there.
Part number depends on your MINI born date on the drives door plaque.

I would argue that you won't feel the difference moving to stainless steel brake lines. However I'm sure there will be others that disagree...

No experience with SS brake lines on the R55 but on my 10+year old Honda I felt immediate improvement with SS lines.

What was the improvement that you felt? I would think the sponginess would go away as the braided line won't "grow" with the pressure of the brake fluid, is thisnwhatbyour improvement was?

If your lines are 9 years old, you will more than likely notice a difference between old stock lines and new braided stainless lines. I've not run into any situations where replacing new factory lines with quality braided stainless lines was very noticeable, but old lines vs new quality stainless ones has always been noticeable. I intentionally included quality twice in that sentence, because that's exactly what Goodridge lines are. There's a lot of junk floating around out there, but Goodridge lines have always treated me well on past cars after experiences with chincy no name aftermarket lines that didn't hold up or didn't cut it.

yes, the sponginess was gone and the brake pedal feel was a lot firmer

Thanks everyone. I've also done some of my own research and I'm going to get them today. Good Quality Part + Bargain Price + Replacing 9 year old lines = good!
