Starting Issue 04 Cooper

I was wondering if anyone could help me solve this. Sometimes it starts and other times it doesn't

Steering wheel placement doesn't seem to matter.
There is absolutely NO sound when the key turns over to ignition (No Cranking).
When placed on readers no codes are found (When working and not working).

Some places I have heard of loose wires? I have no idea where to begin looking though.

I thought perhaps the fact that there is NO sound from starter when it acts up would help to narrow the problems??

New battery.

Thanks to anyone who has the slightest clue..... cause that's better than me at the moment.

Happy Motoring Guys

As far down as it will go. Is there a general way to test the switch that doesn't involve replacing it?

My bet is on ignition switch. The electronic part not the barrel
