Static Charge.

Is anyone else getting a huge static shock off of your drivers side door? Its been bugging the heck out of me for at least a month, happens every time i touch the door getting into the car but not when I exit. Only benefit is it really jolts me awake in the morning .

Yep!!! I get it too. I can even see the spark.
Not sure if I should get one of those old grounding straps or not.

Used to happen to me when I worked at school. I was in and out of a truck every few minutes. Got old quick! Lol.
Use your elbow to touch the handle first, shouldn't hurt as bad as your hand.

I try to touch with my leg first to disperse any built up charge, even then it doesn't always work. If you live in the Monterey bay area and see a man walk to a red MINI and then hear a startled yelp that's me .

I blame the cloth seats in Fenimore, and dry weather. When the humidity is higher, it doesn't seem to happen to me.

I'm in Vegas, there is no humidity so I get zapped pretty good.
