How to Make My MINI Louder?

So I'm not a big fan of the stock exhaust. It's not terrible but I would definitely like a deeper, throatier pitch with a little grumble. What kind of things could I do for this that is under $300, without hurting the life of the car? Thanks!

He'll be hard pressed to do that for 300 or under. Res delete, cat delete, muffler delete even.

All he needs is a universal Magnaflow muffler and a good muffler shop. Many have done that on her for 300 or less.

Boy I wish that was the case over here in MN.... I was quoted about $6oo for a custom cat back with a magnaflow/tips/SS tubing etc.

IMO there is no reason to replace all the tubing, just the muffler.

I had a custom setup installed for under $400. Bumped up to 2.5" pipe and had 18" Magnaflow glasspack and turbo mufflers installed in the exhaust "tunnel".

I'm sure you could get close to $300 by deleting a muffler in my setup.

Here's a short video of me in the exhaust sound-off @ MOTD 10.

I'm CAB in the video.

One of.my.early mods was.just what you.are thinking. Cut the stock muffler off, and welded in a 12" long race glasspack, welded a short piece of tail pipe and reinstalled the beer can tip. I then put a.splice just upstream of.the front weld and a Summit Racing butt clamp, and was able to swap between stock and performance, well at least loud. A Midas bCk then only charge me $45 and.$20 for the.glasspack, not bad. Went back to do the.same with a Borla muffler, they wanted $250. Shop around and good luck. Have fun
