How can someone copy a MINI and make it that ugly?! It has to be a joke, right?

 

I agree..its not eye candy, too much plastic on the pink one and the bonnet angle is uncomfortable, but in all honesty I find it far less offensive than this

looking at the crash tests on Chinese copies of Bimmers and other cars i wouldn't drive it even if it were a penny!!

 

actually chinese cars are improving greatly in the ncap tests, even in the stricter 2012 standards.

as far as I can make out the 320 equalled the vw golf 'trend' in the c-ncap results. but its hard ti find genuine results

 

I still wouldn't touch it...

I hate that they make a bootleg version of EVERYTHING... this thing is ugly.

 

This has been around since 2008, sold in Asia, South America and Russia. I've seen some of their knock off Honda motorcycles and replacement engines and the build quality is pretty mediocre. This will never be sold in the US, although if they could keep the price to $10K and still meet the US safety and emission standards they'd sell them by the boatload. The styling isn't that great but it's better than the Fiat or Yaris.

 

Nice chrome trailer hitch ball.

 

That thing's fugly. It's like Bizarro MINI. You suck, China!

These guys aren't the first to make Mini look-a-likes lol. Come to Japan, you'll find Daihatsu Gino's everywhere...

 

That interior is surprisingly unterrible. Much better than the majority of Korean and GM crap on our roads. The dash is sparse but the lines and contrasting colors as well as the entire door panel, gauge cluster, and shifter area is very tasteful IMO.

The exterior however just looks like a Chinese rip-off. Oh wait...


Does anyone remember when TopGear did a review on this? Jeremy Clarkson says the Lifan looks like somebody "described what a MINI looks like over the phone to someone".

I'd much rather drive Gino instead or lifan
