Sounds about right for chinese produced cars....even a chinese built vw is prettt downmarket too....they uses older, dirtier emissions controls, etc, all to cut tge costs, whil still meeting the VERY FEW rules required of chinese cars....some have been known to implode on impact....build quality and relibility is getting better, but still pretty poor....

There is a version showing how the crash test dummies were STUCK in the cars...had to be cut out...the dash, engine, etc were on the dummies lap....
The crash that would have been a walkaway in a mini was fatal in the test....

I remember that! - it was Geely who scored a big fat ZERO. The irony was they had just brought Volvo.

Poor crash test dummies

I took the pictures in Southern China in January of 2013. Yes the price is around $5,000 ish for the Mini like copy. It does not look as nice as a real Mini in its design or the materials used. They even have a push "pedal car" that you can get like Mini has.

I wonder why the crash test videos of the Lifan had a Portuguese song.

That song was quite pleasant. The Lifan however, wasn't. It looks as if it's disgusted at its own existence.

The driver's in China typicality drive between 35 and 50 MPH. On our latest trip we witnessed cars driving into on coming traffic and cars stalling when making three point turns in traffic. Cars do drive on sidewalks too. Because the cars are moving slow they don't have as many collisions as you may think and when they do it is not as tragic.
