I bought off-the-lot and got a red MINI. It is a great color. But I really want some pink. I am waffling about wrapping it in pink. I dont have the heart for a complete repaint, it pains me to think of what they will need to remove just to wrap it. I took a peek at the orange crush paint job and jut seeing that poor mini disassembled made me realize I absolutely cant do a repaint.

So while looking for pink examples on autos, I came across this Harley on eBay, "pink trash". I thought it was interesting as it started off with a red base coat and they put pink panels accented with gold. A VERY bold statement.

Any advice on how to go pink? Could I manage to add it to the red without looking too gawdy?

It's your car and you can do to it what you like . I wouldn't drive it though, haha.

Just check out a place that wraps cars and see how much they charge for a complete wrap. Or see if you can score a couple cans of blaze pink plastidip.

The pink with the red on that Harley looks lousy. Assuming you're female, a pink wrapped MINI could work, but would be a very bold statement. I'd be sure to wrap everything that's currently red, though, so it's a full color change.

I din't think pink suits MINI's shape or market placement. You could try pink engine accents though, that could be striking. If you pink the outside please only drive it at night; on unlit roads; when it's foggy.

I love pink and would love to see someone paint or wrap their MINI in it. I think the Mary Kay cadillac color would look great on a MINI:

I've seen a matte pink Phantom driving around Hollywood that looks pretty cool. One of the places I was checking out did a 911 in matte pink too:

Wether you paint it or wrap it, the car has to come apart quite a bit. Here's mine:

Oh yeah, and I don't like the pink on red theme. It looks a little too valentines day-ish.

As bold as the guy with a pink Cadillac?

You can just do pink accents such as stripes, mirror caps, wheels, roof graphic, etc. Make sure that you use a light enough pink for sufficient contrast against red.

Don't forget the interior:

There are a surprising number of pink MINI's: https://www.google.com/search?num=10...nk+mini+cooper

Go pink. Very pink. None of that light pink crap.

Seriously, I think it would look great.

One of our neighbors painted her hous Pepto Bismal pink with maroon trim. Everyone in the neighborhood hated it and some took to leaving bottles of Pepto Bismal on her doorstep. Eventually she repainted it. I think even she got tired of it.

So, if you do decide to go pink (I shiver at the thought), don't paint. Do a wrap. And then it won't cost so much to go back to your original color.

You'd have to take the door handles and mirrors off to wrap it.
You can get away with leaving the lights and grill on for a half *** job, it'll look ok as long as there are no close up inspections of the car.

For this situation, Plasti-dip it. You will basically have to remove nothing and if you don't like it, you can peel it off. It's cheap too!

If you want the pink with red look you could focus on stripes (hood, side, rear), rims, hood scoop, trunk trim, and mirror covers.

Thanks for the input. I think I am just trying to work up the courage to wrap it. It isnt really the color, but the fact they will pretty much dismantle my brand new car.

But on a plus, I bet it will never be stolen. I am thinking I should ask for a discount from my insurance. I think most of the pink MINIs look fantastic with the exception of the limo. Colors fine but the stretch, Im just not feelin it.

Oh and I have some rally fantastic black stars to put on if I do a full wrap in pink.

If it makes you smile even bigger every time you go to your car - bite the bullet and do it! You wouldn't even have to see the car in pieces - drop off a red car, pick up your new pink car... Voila, it's like getting two new cars in one year!

If you want to do it just do it. Don't worry about the car being taken apart and put back together. Anyone knowing anything about what they're doing will have no problem and you will never know that the car has been in pieces.

Cars are made to be taken apart and put back together. If they weren't, they wouldn't be held together by screws and plastic snaps. They'd be totally welded together with the plastic bits held on by nails and glue.

Oh, and I love the stars. I think the car would look great in either the really light pink with white roof/accents and it would look even better in pepto pink with black roof, no chrome.

If I was you I would trade yours in for a white (preferably with a white roof) and do pink stripes and maybe the running board stripes as well and other pink accents such as mirror caps and do some pink rims with white lips and to go over the top do pink HID's. I don't know if this would be a option for you but I think this would be bad *** and less hassle then a whole car color change.

The color you choose is your decision. That's what makes it you. That's what makes it your mini. My opinion is mine that's what makes me, me. My opinion is I just don't like pink on a mini, on any car or bike, on a house, on a ribbon magnet on anything. If all cars were pink I would walk.

MINI actually has OEM special edition pink mirror covers available, about $80 each.

BUT how about this pink one

owned at the time by none other than Penn of Penn and Teller

Picture IS Penn but NOT Teller ... 2004 AMVIV

You know, it is YOUR car. Pink would seem to fit in on a Mini, being a car bent on being personalized. I don't really like it, but I would rather drive a pink Mini than my Focus. lol

My thoughts on pink:

Pink, it's my new obsession, yeah
Pink, it's not even a question
Pink, on the lips of your lover
'Cause pink is the love you discover
Pink, as the bing on your cherry
Pink, 'cause you are so very
Pink, it's the color of passion

'Cause today it just goes with the fashion
Pink, it was love at first sight
Yeah pink, when I turn out the light
And pink gets me high as a kite
And I think everything is going to be alright
No matter what we do tonight

You could be my flamingo
'Cause pink, it's a new kinda lingo
Pink, like a deco umbrella
Ffff, it's kink that you don't ever tell her
Yeah, pink, it was love at first sight
Then pink when I turn out the light
Yeah, pink gets me high as a kite
And I think everything is going to be alright
No matter what we do tonight

Yeah,
I, want to be your lover
Ffff, I I wanna wrap you in rubber
And it's pink as the sheets that we lay on
'Cause pink, It's my favorite crayon

Yeah
Pink, it was love at first sight, yeah
Pink, when I turn out the light
Yeah pink, it's like red but not quite
And I think everything is going to be alright
No matter what we do tonight

PS there is actually a Pink MINI in Los Angeles for sale right now, it even has factory nav. Had I only seen it before I purchased...
