Edistava's build thread.

I'm kind of a handy person when it come to all things auto. So this will be my tribute build thread to Edistava. First few things are going to be a mix of fixing items, upgrades, and cosmetic changes.

First project spontaneously happened last night. If we ever meet, one of the first things you will learn is I absolutely hate chrome. Not necessarily on others cars, but deff on mine! I despise it.

Scott, if you hate chrome so much, what do you like? I think the blacked out look is taking its toll on the industry and im no longer a huge fan of that either. Well, I like brushed aluminum, graphite, copper, and bronze. So I'm doing bronze on the existing chrome the stock 17 in wheels. I'll be bringing that color inside as well in a few places. Nothing major or crazy.

Now please remember, this is my taste for my ride. Not my taste or opinion about your ride. If you have chrome or blacked out stuff everywhere, I'll like it just as much as you do. I'm not judge mental.

Everything on this list is on the car except the shift ****. That gets here tomorrow.

Valve cover gasket w/ coil boot seals
Upper engine Tq bushing replacement
WMW ignition package w/ screamin demon coil pack, new wires, and cooler plugs
WMW 17% pulley and belt
Detriot Tuned puller and tensioner tool rental
LED side markers
Short throw shifter
Shift ****
Alta diverter plate, IC couplers, Lic plate holder, and intake

Pics after a wash.

So, I was told that much was to be had with bonnet stripe. Well I caved and did some. Not typical but I love them. Wish I had the money to be professionally installed, but I have some extra to fix them if they ever don't look right. Went ahead and did some on the hatch as well. Also got the name cut.

I like your choice of color! My winter wheels are the same color as yours.

Way to be different -- I like it.

Question for you - do you have any tips o getting out the dash pieces? The vents, above the steering wheel, the passenger airbag cover? I want to paint mine and when I gave it a gentle tug -- I could not get them out...I was nervous of breaking mine.

Second -- the door pieces -- did you just take the door panel off and they release from the back?

Thanks for the info.

Dash removal.

As for the doors, pull them but the panels are heat welded on the back. You have to pop the welds to and 3M tape the top one back in. I left the bottom panel in and just masked it off.

I like the bronze too, very nice! I do still spy some chrome inside your taillights and MINI decals

Is that rope of some kind you wrapped around your interior bits?

Yeah, haven't decided on the Mini badges and the tail lights are to involved to mess with right now.

SOON!

The rope is from Lowes. In the rope and chain isle there is a section for moring rope. The thin kind you would use with a tent. The one I chose is about 1/4 inch thick and pretty close to the color of the car. I put it in all the places you grab or rest your legs. This was the places that were most worn on the original finish.
