Blinking LED Lights

So I just installed a set of LED license plate lights on my 06 MCS and something kind of strange happened. I plugged them into the existing light bracket and they started blinking/flashing. This only happens when the car is unlocked and the headlights are off. As soon as I turn the headlights on or lock the car, the problem goes away, and they work beautifully. Any ideas of what could be the problem?

I got them from Coopersport.com, and they seem to be of good quality(to me at least) http://www.coopersport.com/53/LPL/

I had AZNOptics LEDs that failed and would flash randomly. They were replaced under warranty. I have read that when the bulb-out check runs some LEDs will flash but I haven't experienced it personally..

Have heard of this happening...
read somwhere that adding a resistor to the bulb to use up the tiny electrical charge causing the flash will solve the problem.....many led's are sold with a resistor already installed for this reason, and to keep the wattage the same, thus keeping things like blinkers working as intented.
