Ouch

I sold my mini last night. I have never cried before when selling a car, and neither has my wife. Farewell little fun car!

Very sorry to hear. I hope it ends up in hands like yours. Why the sale? Getting another?

From the other perspective, I once bought a beloved piece of machinery. It was a 1939 Fordson tractor, I purchased from the original owners. They took pictures as I was loading it on a trailer and taking it away, they looked a little misty eyed too.

Why did you sell it?

Dave

Sorry for the loss. Hopefully you are replacing with something else that will bring you similar joy.

No, the left brain won this time. I had just replaced the clutch (throw out bearing broke), and the dealer gave me a list of several other items that needed replacement soon that added up to almost $3k. Plus the airbag seat sensor has died twice (while under warranty). Really fun car, but I couldn't afford to keep it running. Getting a boring honda next. Thought about leasing a new Mini so it would always be under warranty....

Yeah, the teary feeling just came over me two nights ago when I drove my beloved MR2 Spyder to the transporter to be delivered to its new owner. It was just time for numerous reasons, but very hard to say goodbye to. Someone was talking in another post about cars with "soul", the MINI has it, so I'm sure you will miss this, especially getting into a Honda! My wife has a Honda CRV, it is the most reliable and solid car we have ever owned and the most BORING! Good luck with the new car though, comes a time for everything!

I bawled when I sold my Mazda for my MINI. My husband was quite worried! Sorry to hear you had to sell it. Very understandable reasoning though. Good luck with the Honda

I got teary eyed when I traded in my first MINI for my new one. It was like I was getting rid of a child =( I still want to cry sometime thinking about the fact I had to trade her in, but like yours mine was starting to fall part and nothing under warranty. Sometimes you just have to let go

Lease/finance/buy a new MINI instead! Even if its just a base model. Why resort to a boring honda after having such a fun car?

Whats the worst that could happen? Your new mini hasa few problems covered under warranty and you have to go to the dealer? Thats a hell of alot better than having a boring honda. My father just turned in his leased 09 Accord and instead of getting another boring new car he bought an 06 330ci convertible in a 6 speed. Keep having fun.
