Are those stripes removable?

Sorry it's silly question, but are they painted or stickers?
If they are stickers, are they easy to remove?

Thank you!

They are Vinyl. So yeah it is basically like a high quality sticker. They are fairly easy to remove, depends how long they have been on. Search tips to remove vinyl on google to find some solutions.

Best way to remove them is to use a hair dryer on the stripes to soften the adhesive. If they're not too old they should come off in one piece. If they're old, you'll have to deal with some cracking, which will make the job more difficult. Pretty easy if you have a little patience.

Use a hairdryer and whatever you do, don't scrap them with anything sharp. The hairdryer should loosen them up enough the start them peeling. Pull back on them, not straight up. After you get them off you
can use some clay bar to try and blend in the area where they were.

Thank you NinerfanWI and drsimmons!!
I'm still searching for Mini. My wife doesn't like the stripes, but I don't want to limit my search to an non striped Mini.

I though I have to re-paint the hood.

Again thank you guys,

Magnetic backed stripes, perhaps?!? Pull'em off when the wife doesn't want to see them.

The irony is that things like stripes can grow on you after a bit. When I first got my car, I liked the subtlety of no rally lights or stripes. Then after driving for almost a year, I gradually grew to like them on other cars I saw. It's different when it's 'your car' versus an idea in your head. I'd open your search, and if you do wind up with a stripe car (assuming you like it), stall a bit before removing. You never know...

Good point Blackbomber, I'll definitely won't remove them right away if I buy a striped Mini.

How's your 2002 running? Many people here suggested to go with 2005 or 2006 S or Non S Mini, but I cannot find the one with reasonable price...

All those 2004, 05, and 06 with high price ones are just sitting there for a long time (eBay, Craigslist, dealers).

Take care,
Honomatsu
