Taking my mom for a ride in my MINI

Yea, ever since I got the MCS my mom refers to it as my "Cute car." My parents were in Texas from Florida to celebrate my son's third birthday so I took her for a spin.

Punched it for the on ramp and when we got off the highway there's a left turn that's like a 70-80 degree angle, so lots of fun. Yea, I took it at a good clip.

Mom's reaction: "Wow, this is almost like a sports car!!!"

We haven't discussed the car much since but at least she still hasn't referred to it as "Cute" either.

Never underestimate the power of the uninitiated to underestimate the fun factor of a MINI.

That's a lot of underestimating! However, tis true. I gave one of my fellow sportbike riding friends a ride back to his car once and after whipping round a few turns he says "I can see why you love this car!"

Grabbing oh S!!! handles and screaming is OK. Proves you got her in for a demo. If you had Recaros, 5 point harnesses and a couple of Bell skull buckets, you'd have never gotten her to sit down.

My mom's ridden on the back of my sport bike, so that likely wouldn't scare her off.

Nice, my mom is used to the way that I drive so the mini being sporty didn't really surprise her. What was funny though, was this weekend, after I installed my DoS CAI, I took her to the airport. When she heard the BPV she looked at me and asked "did your car just sneeze?" I about lost it laughing right then.

Edit: that was on the freeway, leaving the neighborhood where I was only operating in low rpms, she said the car kinda sounded like Darth Vader.......I'm somehow ok with this comparison

I took my mom on MTTS 2010 and well she went and bought a Countryman and is even more fanatical about MINI then I am.

Nowadays, it would either be "Stuff moms say", or "S**t my mother says".
